Rachael Speedy, Head Honcho

In 2008 NZ Premium Foods was established by Rachael Speedy. Rachael is a driven business person who is inspired by her passion for quality New Zealand food and beverage. Rachael’s food career dates back to The Hotel Corporation of New Zealand in 1984.

After working up the ranks from trainee to senior management within Hotels, she went on to work and manage a number of businesses both locally and internationally.

Returning to New Zealand, Rachael decided to pursue her passion creating a brand foodies for food lovers for premium quality food and beverage for both local and international markets. Rachael has many years business experience with a vast network of contacts throughout New Zealand, Australia, China, Thailand, Japan and beyond. As a result, she has initiated many successful business partnerships both locally and internationally too and continues to just that.


Jo Lukic, Administration Guru

Jo has a varied background in industries such as advertising, publishing, insurance and hospitality.

Before joining NZ Premium Foods, she was Office manager for Bachcare Holiday Homes.

Her outstanding organisational skills and extensive administration knowledge allows her to work closely with NZ Premium Foods customers and suppliers to ensure exceptional service                


Pip Mehrtens, The Generalist. Business Consultant offering a range of strategic, digital and project based help for small businesses

Pip Mehrtens, Marketing Guru

As The Generalist, Pip offers a wide range of help to New Zealand small businesses and sole traders. 

Ex-media, with a strong sales, marketing, business development and business management background, she has a passion for helping small businesses improve commercial outcomes.

Pip works with clients on strategy, planning and problem solving, acts as a sounding board for ideas and challenges, as well as taking on marketing, SEO, website builds and other project work as needed. 


Chef Kieran Jr Genge of private in-home degustation dining experiences company 4 1/2 Grams

Kieran Jr Genge, Private Chef Guru

Kieran loves experimenting with new flavours, textures and aromas. Using herbs like foodies horopita, kawakawa and pikopiko gets him excited.

A wonderfully creative and talented chef, he tries new flavours and unexpected combinations in his food to create unlikely pairings that taste simply amazing.

Kieran started 4 1/2 Grams in 2020. The in-home dining experience showcases his personal concept dishes in set 5 and 7 degustation menus. Travelling all around New Zealand, Kieran offers food-lovers around the country a new and exciting way to experience fine dining.


Lance Mack, Logistics & Warehousing Guru

Lance is our go to guy for all our freight deliveries.

He works alongside our team to ensure all our products are delivered on time as promised.

Lance also looks after all our international imports. He knows all there is to know about moving freight domestically and internationally.


Thomas Hamill, Photographer for NZ Premium Foods, who manufacture the foodies for food lovers brand

Thomas Hamill, Photography Guru

Whilst working for the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra in charge of education and outreach Thomas decided to pursue his dream of becoming a photographer and undertook a Diploma in Professional Photography across 2019.

Now an award winning and published photographer with clients as broad as Auckland Museum and the Department of Conservation, Thomas also enjoys creating images of the fantastic produce available from NZ Premium Foods and the process of finding new, interesting ways to shoot produce. 

Thomas uses Fujifilm X series equipment.
